Totes For A Cause

Handmade using sustainable cork leather with beige cotton straps and a washable polka dot interior lining. These eco-friendly cork totes can carry up to 50lbs and are durable and weather-resistant.

$12 from every tote bag is donated to organizations supporting women's education and health in developing countries.

Here's a list of the current organizations we are supporting:

Malala Fund: Founded by the international human rights icon Malala Yousafzai, the Malala Fund is one of the most famous organizations helping girls and women get an education in developing countries. The Malala Fund works directly with girls in local communities to advocate for their education. Donations to the fund are used to invest in schools and supplies, as well as place activists and educators in the girls’ communities. The organization primarily helps girls in Pakistan, Afghanistan, India, Nigeria, and countries housing Syrian refugees such as Lebanon and Jordan.

Camfed: A pan-African movement revolutionizing how girl's education is delivered. Through a gold-standard system of accountability to young people and communities they serve, they have created a model that radically improves girl's prospects of becoming independent, influential women. Their impact increases exponentially through the Association of young women educated with Camfed's support. Together, we help multiply the number of girls in school in Africa and accelerate their path to livelihoods and leadership.

Fistula Foundation: Childbirth shouldn't be terrifying for young mothers, yet in developing worlds many complications can happen. Fistula Foundation helps provide better healthcare to women in labor and this support is required to make sure women can deliver children safely and with dignity.

Women For Women: Conflict disproportionately occurs in developing regions, and women are often the overlooked victims of this violence. Women for Women is a nonprofit that provides women in conflict zones with an empowerment program. The program equips women with business skills, job skills, and networking opportunities. Women for Women also provides women in conflict zones with resources such as microfinancing and access to local healthcare sources.

Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation (Family Planning Division): Their goal is to bring access to high-quality contraceptive information, services, and supplies to an additional 120 million women and girls in the poorest countries without coercion or discrimination, with the longer-term goal of universal access to voluntary family planning.

OxFam Canada: Gender is the most persistent predictor of poverty and powerlessness in our world today. Women are the powerhouses of developing countries: they produce most of the food, make up a third of the official labour force and care for families and homes. Yet they tend to have fewer rights, fewer resources and fewer opportunities to make life-shaping decisions than men. Gender remains the most persistent predictor of poverty. When women’s rights are respected, women are healthier, better educated and better paid. Children thrive and so do communities, organizations and societies, creating lasting benefits for generations to come.
